mediaX was the affiliate program of the H-STAR Institute extending from the
Stanford Graduate School of Education to over two dozen interdisciplinary labs at Stanford. mediaX brought innovative companies and researchers together to explore thoughtful uses of information technology across the industries of tomorrow.
Through March 31, 2022, mediaX initiated research through strategic engagements with our members which typically investigate how the relationship between people, media and technology can be enhanced, augmented and improved. Now we Pass The Torch.
The various mediaX membership programs provided regular opportunities for people from high-impact companies to get acquainted and interact with Stanford University researchers.
mediaX took its strength from Stanford’s thought leadership—the faculty, students, courses, and the research programs that receive support from federal agencies and private foundations. At Stanford, we were able to go deeper and wider than is practical for most companies.
The combination of Silicon Valley’s entrepreneurial culture, actively engaged industry partners, Stanford thought leadership, and the energetic creativity of bright, motivated graduate students infused mediaX activities with unique opportunities to capitalize on the full intellectual, technological and cultural resources at Stanford University.
