Timothy Kasbe
Timothy Kasbe serves on the executive leadership team at Gloria Jeans Company, and is their Chief Operating Officer. In this role, he leads Supply Chain, information, technology, and company strategy. Gloria Jeans is a vertically integrated retailer with 48 manufacturing factories in Russia and Ukraine, and a large import network from China, Vietnam and Uzbekistan.
Prior to this, Timothy was Chief Information Officer (CIO) for Intrexon Corporation, Durham, North Carolina, USA, which is focused on high-throughput manufacturing of synthetic DNA to address human, animal, protein, agriculture biology and industrial biofuels. There, Timothy led deployment of first of a kind DNA manufacturing and supply chain platform with full integration with strategic global channel partners of Intrexon. Prior to this, Timothy was CIO at Sears Holdings in Chicago, a fortune 50 company that is $44 billion / year broad line retailer in the United States, with 32 retail business units operating 4,400 stores across America. Here, Timothy completely transformed the technology organization and platform to help Sears move from a bricks and mortar retailer into an online, social and mobile marketplace.
Before joining Sears, Timothy led a startup and retail chain in India for Reliance Industries Limited in Bombay, India. He deployed technology solutions to support the retail startup, which rolled out 956 stores, 74 distribution centers across 14 formats pan-India in 18 months. Reliance now is the biggest retailer in India. Prior to this, Timothy was senior partner at IBM’s global retail practice and helped transform retailers like Sanborns of Grupo Carso S. A. B. de C.V. (Mexico), Wal-Mart (USA), Metro Group, AG (Germany), Boulanger (France), David Jones (Australia) and Kohls (USA). Before retail, Timothy worked with the company’s strategy team to incubate innovations around e-commerce and media solutions. Today’s WebSphere and Smarter Commerce offerings from IBM are results of this work. Timothy started his career at Westpac Bank’s forex and money market trading floor in Sydney, Australia.
Timothy has MBA from Duke University, B. Tech from Institute of Engineers, and B. Th from Moore Theological College. He is a candidate for a doctorate degree in Theology at Duke University’s Trinity College of Arts and Sciences.
