Ashly Burch, Crumpets and Badonkadonks: Creating Tiny Tina. Tiny Tina -- a hyperactive, dynamite-loving thirteen year old -- emerged as one of the Borderlands franchise's most memorable characters. But how did she transition from a series of random, scribbled brainstorms into a full-fledged character? Writer Anthony Burch and voice actor Ashly Burch will explore the creative process that turned Tiny Tina into the sort-of-beloved character she is today. Starting with the brainstorms, then moving into casting, until finally ending at the voice-over process, the Burch Bros will attempt to show how a character can (and should) change over the course of her production.
Ashly Burch is an American actress, voice actress, singer, and writer known for her role as the voice of Tiny Tina in the video game Borderlands 2, the web series Hey Ash, Whatcha Playin'?, and Mayuri Shiina from Steins;Gate among others. She is a storyline writer on the Cartoon Network series Adventure Time and voiced Chloe in the video game Life Is Strange, for which she won the Golden Joystick Award for Best Performance. She is also the host of Geek & Sundry's Unplugged series.
Anthony Burch is an employee at Rocket Jump; he took the position after leaving his former post as a writer at video game developer Gearbox Software. He was the lead writer for Borderlands 2, and contributed his script-writing and vocal talent to the "Claptrap Proposal" that Gearbox produced. Anthony is also the co-writer and co-star of the defunct web series "Anthony Saves the World".
Ashly and Anthony jointly and independently produce the short comedy videos series Hey Ash, Whatcha Playin'? (HAWP). The series utilizes surreal humor and comicalsibling rivalry to examine the themes, industry trends, and societal impact of video games, with each episode typically focusing on a single game.
