Interactive media and games increasingly pervade and shape our society. In addition to their dominant roles in entertainment, video games play growing roles in education, arts, science and health. This seminar series brings together a diverse set of experts to provide interdisciplinary perspectives on these media regarding their history, technologies, scholarly research, industry, artistic value and potential future.

Ingmar Riedel-Kruse, Playing with Living Cells. The Riedel-Kruse Lab combines basic research and engineering approaches by working on biophysics of development and biotic games. Biotic games require biological process to run and could have a similar impact on society as conventional video games based on electronics; and we design and engineer biotic games specifically targeted at educational challenges and to support biomedical research.
