Interactive media and games increasingly pervade and shape our society. In addition to their dominant roles in entertainment, videogames play growing roles in education, arts, science and health. These talks bring together a diverse set of experts to provide interdisciplinary perspectives on these media regarding their history, technologies, scholarly research, industry, artistic value and potential future. As the speakers and title suggest, the series also provides a topical lens for the diverse aspects of our lives.

Randy Lee, Tencent's Approach to Games and the Western Market. As one of the largest internet companies by market cap and the largest gaming company by revenue in the world, come learn about Tencent and how the company approaches gaming and the Western market. Gaming is not easy, even for a company with over 700 million monthly active users on their social platform.

Randy Lee is the Head of Business Development, North America for Tencent. Randy’s responsibilities include investments, licensing, developer and partner relations, and strategic growth initiatives for all things gaming and entertainment related. Prior to Tencent, Randy was VP of Global Business Development at Crowdstar, a Time Warner, Intel Capital backed leader in mobile games. Randy led Crowdstar's expansion internationally, managed their strategic platform partnerships and other distribution and licensing initiatives.
