Dr. Pea’s research areas include computer-supported collaborative and online community learning, uses of digital video for learning research and teacher education, distributed intelligence, scientific visualization, and pervasive learning with wireless handheld computers.  Roy is also one of the founders of Teachscape that provides comprehensive K-12 teacher professional development services incorporating web-based video case studies of standards–based teaching and communities of learners. Dr. Pea has a B.A. in Philosophy and Psychology from Michigan State University, and a Ph.D., in Philosophy from University of Oxford in England.
