NCast Joins as Affiliate Sponsor of Media X at Stanford University
PALO ALTO, California, January 25, 2008 – Media X at Stanford University announces the addition of NCast to its membership community.
NCast provides solutions for the capture, distribution, and replay of high-quality multimedia productions. “The Media X community represents the top echelon of business leaders and academicians pioneering the use of technology for teamwork, collaboration and communication,” reflects NCast Vice President Tom Mitchell. “We are pleased to have the NCast Telepresenter™ M3 Series 2 installed in Wallenberg Hall, where Media X originates many of its seminars and teleconferences. NCast continually adds features and capabilities to its products based on what we learn from our users, and we look forward to learning from Media X.”
“Fidelity, ubiquity, and pervasiveness are important considerations in how people use advanced communication technologies,” said Chuck House, Executive Director of the Media X program. “The NCast product integrates video, audio, and high-resolution WUXGA graphics in a PIP (Picture in Picture) format that preserves top quality resolution, which turns out to be vital for many work teams who rely on technical communications. Human use of advanced communication technologies for collaboration is an important area of emphasis for Media X research.”
NCast joins other Sponsors of Media X (mediax.stanford.edu) in providing resources to stimulate novel interdisciplinary research initiatives that integrate perspectives from communication, engineering, humanities, law, medicine, business, and design and disseminate those results.
